Awards promote excellent forests

THE annual RDS-Forest Service Awards, in Emo Court, Portlaoise, are intended to promote standards of excellence in the production of native forests and trees.

One award will be for farm forestry and the other will be for bio-diverse forests and woodlands. Each category will have €3,000 in prize money.

Winners will receive a cheque for €2,000, a perpetual trophy and an RDS silver medal and the runner–up will receive €1,000. The awards continue the historic involvement of the RDS in the development of Irish forestry.
