€28m investment for Atlantis Holiday Group

UP to 90 jobs are to be created in the west of Ireland with a €28 million investment in two developments by an Irish tourist group.

€28m investment for Atlantis Holiday Group

The Atlantis Holiday Group said that it intends developing a €20m five-star hotel complex in Quin, County Clare, and a €8m holiday complex in Galway.

Atlantis purchased Peacockes Hotel in Galway last month and recently reopened the hotel to the public, after it underwent extensive refurbishment works.

Plans are now in place to develop a holiday complex at the hotel, involving leisure and spa facilities, extra accommodation and lakeside holiday homes. The total value of the development is around €8m and when completed the project will create over 40 new jobs.

The tourism accommodation group has also acquired Ballykilty Manor Hotel in County Clare and full planning permission has been secured for a €20 million five-star hotel complex on the 50-acre site.

The group also announced that its new hotel, spa and holiday complex under construction in the north Clare coastal village of Ballyvaughan will open in July. Located beside the village harbour, the Burren Coast Hotel is expected to create 30 local jobs when it opens.

“The new development will include 20 en-suite bedrooms, a spa facility, public bar, restaurant, function room and a conference facility. The complex, which has been designed by Healy & Partners Architects in Limerick, and developed by Megcourt Developments Ltd, will also feature 22 holiday homes,” said a spokesperson from Atlantis.
