“It’s vital that we acknowledge the highly educated young people who have embarked on a successful career in farming,” he said at the launch of the FBD 2007 Young Farmer of the Year competition, run by Macra in partnership with the IFA.

IFA president Padraig Walshe said the competition has been a big success in recognising and rewarding the industry’s best young farmers.
