Genzyme to expand Irish operations

Biotechnology company Genzyme, which employs 349 people at its biotechnology facility in Waterford, has announced that a further 52 people will be recruited before the end of this year, taking employment to 401 — an increase of 156 since the start of 2006.

By year-end, the Massachusetts-based company will have invested over €270m at its Waterford site.
