Bank of Ireland has urged all savers in the Cork region to seek advice when their SSIA matures next week.

More than 1.1 million people nationwide participated in the SSIA scheme, with over 50% of all SSIAs maturing on April 30, the last day of the scheme.

Joe O’Brien, Bank of Ireland branch manager in the South Mall, said: “As over 530,000 SSIA savers gain access to their cash next week, the key point to remember is to seek professional advice before making any decisions.”

Latest mortgage offering welcomed

Dublin: The Irish Mortgage Corporation has welcomed the announcement by Ulster Bank of the launch of its latest mortgage offering.

Ulster Bank is offering first time buyers a rate of 0.75% above the European Central Bank’s base lending rate, which currently stands at 3.75% over the lifetime of the mortgage.
