Wright Group wins €11.5m contract

The Government announced yesterday that Bus Éireann is to purchase 48 new single deck city buses from the Wright Group in Ballymena in a deal worth €11.5m.

Transport Minister, Martin Cullen visited the company’s bus operation in County Antrim.

The new buses are to be delivered by the end of this year.

Mr Cullen also confirmed that Dublin Bus has agreed with Wrights to supply their first prototype — a hybrid electric double deck vehicle, “to advance the sustainable agenda within Dublin Bus”.
