A start-up firm in Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) has been awarded the Emerging Business of the Year at Genesis Enterprise Awards.

Marwin Environmental Trading is an exporter of recyclable materials.

The founder of Marwin Environmental Trading, Chris Hannon was presented with the award and a cheque for €3,000 by Enterprise, Trade and Employment Minister Micheál Martin, at the end of year awards for the entrepreneurs of 12 innovative companies in the south-west, which completed the 2006/7 Genesis Enterprise Programme at CIT.
