THE ISEQ Index closed in positive territory as the construction and airline sectors boosted the market yesterday.

The exchange added 60.41 to 9,400.98.

Construction giant CRH turned out to be the star performer on the day, jumping 57c to €32.59. Kingspan strengthened by 24c to €20.04 and Grafton increased 22c to €11.38 to round off a good session for the sector.

Drug company Elan jumped 30c to €10.20 after the US FDA fast-tracked the company‘s Alzheimer‘s drug.

Elsewhere, Ryanair tacked on 13c to €6.02 with over 2.8 million shares traded. C&C fell 4c to €11.32 while Paddy Power dropped 35c to €20.25.
