Hurley new head of research centre

Communications Minister Noel Dempsey announced the appointment of Ben Hurley as chief executive of the National Digital Research Centre (NDRC) yesterday.

The centre, at Dublin’s Digital Hub, is an independent company founded through collaboration between third level institutions to translate research into commercial potential.

Mr Noel Dempsey, said that the centre has a unique opportunity to unleash innovation potential in Ireland and foster the digital media sector.

The new chief executive previously has held other senior positions with companies including Innovada, Broadcom, Sepro and Ericsson.

The NDRC will be located in the Digital Exchange building at the Digital Hub, Dublin 8 and will begin working in projects in the coming week.
