Poultry producers get compensation
This was revealed by Agriculture Minister Mary Coughlan in a written reply to a Dáil query by Fine Gael TD Seymour Crawford, who had asked if the amount of compensation was sufficient to help the industry survive.
“All applications have been processed and payments are currently taking place. We expect a total of some €469,000 to be paid. I am satisfied that the scheme is of assistance to eligible applicants,” she said.
