DCBA positive on city improvements

DUBLIN CITY BUSINESS ASSOCIATION (DCBA) announced yesterday, at its 33rd AGM, recent improvements in public transport services and access have positively impacted on trading performance of the city centre businesses.

DCBA positive on city improvements

“We anticipate an additional 1–2 million sq ft of retail space to be developed in the city centre over the next five years, consolidating the city centre’s positioning of the largest retail space in the country,” said DCBA chairman, Basil Good.

“The introduction of LUAS, extended DART, more commuter trains and increase in buses and QBCs, have all contributed to providing greater access to the city centre. The opening of the Port Tunnel and HGV restrictions in the city centre have meant that there will be around 8,000 less trucks in our city streets and the positive impact on improving traffic flow for shoppers is already being felt.”
