The market made a modest recovery from the massive losses of Wednesday.

The ISEQ index followed most other international bourses into positive territory and rose 103.95 to 9,164.89.

Financials led the charge as AIB and Anglo-Irish added 21c and 25c to €22.16 and €16.07. Bank of Ireland rose 22c, while Irish Life and Permanent also rose, 12c to €20.12.
