BRITISH stocks declined yesterday, ending a four-day winning streak. Tesco and Vodafone Group led the retreat.

Shares of Sainsbury’s fell the most since May on speculation a group of buyout firms led by CVC Capital Partners may scrap plans for a takeover bid.

The FTSE fell 11.90, or 0.2%, to 6,233.30.
