THE Nikkei rebounded from five days of heavy selling, rising 1.22% yesterday.

Exporters such as Toyota advanced, with the yen’s slide easing concerns about their earnings prospects.

Softbank also extended gains yesterday to end up 5.7%. The Nikkei rose 202.25 to 16,844.50.
