Rural Economy Research Centre opened

TEAGASC’s new Rural Economy Research Centre, based in Athenry, Co Galway, having been relocated from Dublin, was officially opened yesterday by Agriculture and Food Minister Mary Coughlan.

Located in the renovated former Mellows Agricultural College, which she also re-dedicated, the campus, now known as Áras Uí Mhaoilíosa, has more than 170 people employed.

Over €2 million has been spent on the campus in recent years.
