French stocks up

THE CAC 40 Index gained 27.35, or 0.5%, to 5692.45 in Paris. The SBF 120 Index also added 0.5%.

ST Microelectronics, added 15c, or 1%, to €14.73. JP Morgan Chase & Co raised its recommendation on semiconductor stocks to ‘bullish’ from ‘cautious’, saying gross margins and earnings should begin to improve in the second quarter.
