DAX hits six-year high

GERMANY‘S DAX Index closed at its highest level since November 2000. Europe‘s second-biggest maker of semiconductors, Infineon Technologies, paced the gain after it received a mobile-chip order from Nokia Oyj.

The HDAX Index of the 110 biggest firms gained 20.79 to 3,582.42. The DAX Index closed up 39.86, or 0.6%, at 6,915.56.
