FTSE down

BRITISH stocks declined yesterday, paced by Friends Provident after F&C Asset Management, in which it owns a stake, said clients pulled £3.4bn from its funds in the fourth quarter.

The FTSE 100 Index slipped 38.9 to 6,203.1 as of the close in London. The FTSE All-Share Index lost 17.85, or 0.6%, to 3211.84.
