Forest-road building grant to rise

A MAJOR increase in grants for the construction of forest roads was announced yesterday.

Forestry Minister Mary Wallace said a maximum grant of €45 a linear metre is being established.

This new grant ceiling takes account of increased construction costs over the years since the scheme was established.
