Solid trading for bullocks

Marts: There was a slight improvement in prices for a small entry of stock at Bandon Mart yesterday as the trade picks up slowly following the Christmas break.

There were very few heavy cattle on offer, but the trade was solid for the lots at the sale. Up to €237 over was paid for the forward store bullocks, while the light stores made up to €224 over.

The pattern of supply was similar for the heifers — very little beef on offer — and the medium and forward store heifers sold for up to €220 over €/kg.
