CHAMBERS IRELAND yesterday criticised the guidelines on employee financial involvement (EFI) in Irish companies, published on Wednesday, as alienating the majority of private-sector companies due to its bias towards union-based workplaces.

The report called ‘Improving Performance — Sharing the Gains’, came from the National Centre for Parnership and Performance, ICTU and IBEC/CIF.

Chambers Ireland’s chief executive John Dunne said: “Its exclusive focus on unionised workplaces risks giving the impression that such schemes can only be implemented with union participation, alienating the vast majority of private sector companies and limiting its potential for positive impact.”
