BCI receives 136 funding requests

THE Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) has announced that it has received 136 applications for radio funding in the third round of Sound & Vision, the broadcasting funding scheme.

The scheme offers grants for new radio programmes on themes of Irish culture, heritage and experience and is funded by 5% of the television licence fee.

In this third round of the scheme, 136 applications were received from the sector; with a total allocation of €3.2 million requested.
