IACT appoints new head

THE Irish Association of Corporate Treasurers (IACT) has appointed Porsche International Financing managing director John Gilsenan, to the position of president of the association with immediate effect.

Mr Gilsenan joined Porsche in 1991 as financial accountant and treasurer and was involved in setting up the company’s treasury and reinsurance operation in the Dublin International Financial Services Centre. He was appointed managing director in 1993 and is a member of the Taoiseach’s IFSC Banking & Treasury Group.

Mr Gilsenan is also a member of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and the Irish Taxation Institute.

Commenting on his new role, John Gilsenan said: “The treasury function is at the core of any business. I look forward to working with the industry at large, through the IACT network, in continuing the promotion of codes of best treasury practice for the future.”
