Market pushes on towards 9,000

THE ISEQ Index gained a further 25.95 yesterday. The Dublin exchange was 8,964.09 at the closing bell.

AIB added just 1c to €21.64. Bank of Ireland was 7c better off at €16.60. Anglo Irish was 20c stronger at €15.40 as it was the first bank to raise its interest rates following the latest increase by the ECB.

Construction giant CRH jumped 52c to €29.52 as it completed the disposal of six contracting and asphalt activities in Ashland Paving and Construction. McInerney rose 60c to €14.40. Kingspan Group and Grafton Group were 5c and 3c.
