THE Irish Farmers’ Association is to convene a special meeting to discuss farmers’ issues on off-shore islands.

Islands where the IFA has a branch network, including Arranmore, Inishboffin, Clare Island, Aran Islands, Sherkin Island, Cape Clear and Bear Island, will be represented.

IFA leader Padraig Walshe undertook to take up the plight of island farmers with Agriculture and Food Minister Mary Coughlan when he visited Arranmore, off the Donegal coast.
