A PERIOD house in Cork city, on the edge of the emerging UCC dockland’s campus, sold yesterday for €2.7m, a full €1m over its pre-auction guide.

Rosenheim, on the city end of the Blackrock Road, sits on 1.2 acres, dates to 1822 and is a protected structure.

Pitched as a residential sale, it sold under the auction hammer, at a packed auction, with Hugh McPhillips of Marshs auctioneers.
