Market moves to 9,000 mark

YESTERDAY saw the Dublin market continue recent positive movements, as the ISEQ index was 16.80 in the black at 8,808.76 points.

It was a mixed day for the financials as AIB and Irish life and Permanent added 12c and 5c to end the day at €21.73 and €19.80. Anglo-Irish slipped 3c to finish at €14.37. Bank of Ireland shed 12c to €16.03.

A strong gain of 45c for CRH to €28.60 bolstered the construction sector, after Finance Minister Brian Cowen’s pre-Budget estimates confirmed the Government’s commitment to infrastructural spending.
