TRIBUTES have poured in for one of Cork’s most popular business men, Denis MacSweeny, who died yesterday.

Late of Ballintemple, he is survived by his wife Deirdre, his seven sons Eoghan, Denis, Kevin, Conor, Cian, Ronan, Colm and two daughters Ciara and Eithne, his mother Peg, brother Aidan and sisters Ann Jackson and Mary Crosbie.

An avid surfer and skier, the 52-year-old was also heavily involved with Cork Boat Club, Cork Masters Swimming Club, the Cork City Regatta and the Munster Rugby supporter’s club.

At 21 he took over his father’s photography business which has been in operation since 1916.

His retail premises are based on Marlboro Street, Merchants Quay and Clonmel, Co Tipperary.
