IFA to hold cereal production talk

THE IFA has organised an information seminar on the future of cereal production and alternative land use at Midleton Park Hotel in Co Cork on Wednesday night.

Cork IFA development officer Sean Clarke said the sector has changed greatly, due to the closure of the beet industry.

“The upcoming meeting is an ideal opportunity for tillage farmers to explore their future options in the sector,” he said. IFA president Padraig Walshe, Prof Michael Hayes, University of Limerick, and JJ Kavanagh, Team Leader, IFA Alternative Land Use Project, will be among the speakers.
