French stocks fall

FRENCH stocks fell after ECB president Jean-Claude Trichet signalled the bank will raise interest rates in December to control inflation.

“In the minds of investors, rates will probably increase next month,” said Jerome Forneris, a fund manager at Banque Martin Maurel.

The CAC 40 lost 60.79 to 5,310.07.
