Campaign launched as egg sales leap

A promotional campaign, endorsed by the Irish Heart Foundation, was launched with the theme that healthy adults can eat seven eggs a week as part of a balanced diet.

Bord Bia said retail sales were estimated at €53 million, the equivalent of €248 million eggs. However, Ireland still has one of the lowest consumption rates of eggs.
