Industries save €27m energy bills

IRISH Industries avoided €27 million in energy bills last year, according to Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI), who announced the figures at the launch of SEI’s Large Industry Energy Network (LIEN) Annual Report 2005.

Industries save €27m energy bills

The network consists of over 80 of Ireland’s large industrial energy users, collectively accounting for about 60% of Ireland’s industrial energy use.

The member companies have avoided over 754,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent since the scheme began in 1995. Member companies have an annual average energy spend of €4m.
