THE amount of spam being sent to Irish email addresses has surpassed 50%, according to IE Internet.

This is the fourth time this year that spam has comprised more than half of emails sent to Irish email users. The US was the main source of spam which clocked up 44% of mails. Korea was second and China was third. The rate of virus-infected emails targeted at Irish inboxes dropped to 11.6% in September.
