Deloitte launches compliance team

DELOITTE launched its compliance and regulation team yesterday. The team will assist clients in managing their regulatory risks and help them achieve compliance.

The team has been established in response to continuing changes to EU legislation. In particular, the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID), with a compliance deadline of November 2007, will have a significant impact on firms providing financial services, how they structure their businesses and engage with clients.

The new team will be headed by Donncha Connolly, who joins from the Financial Regulator and has experience in the implementation and negotiation of numerous EU directives.
