Market shows slight decline

THE ISEQ index fell slightly as the markets attention was diverted to the Ryder Cup.

The Dublin exchanged dipped 56.81 to 8,140.66.

AIB fell 1c to €20.94 while Bank of Ireland remained unchanged. Anglo Irish lost 5c to close at €12.95 and Irish Life & Permanent fell 7c to €19.50.

In construction, CRH closed 55c down at €26.40 as concerns about the US housing market continue to affect the stock. Kingspan climbed 3c to €15.75 while Grafton weakened by 17c to €10.35.

Elsewhere, C&C rallied 15c to €10.65 on the back of confirmation the group had sold its Tayto Crisp brand for €62.3m. Newcourt Group moved 3c ahead to €1.28 as the market awaits interim results due on Monday.
