Co-ops back €300m dairy aid plan

THE co-ops umbrella body, ICOS, has announced strong support for the €300 million grant aid package announced by Agriculture Minister Mary Coughlan for capital investment in the dairy processing sector.

The fund, which includes €100m of Government grant assistance, is now open for applications, to be submitted to Enterprise Ireland by October 26.

ICOS director general John Tyrrell said the society is working to maximise the opportunity the funding presents.
