THE operators of Kinsale’s new €35 million, 120-bedroom Carlton Hotel are targeting an initial 40,000 overnight guests in its first year of operation.

Last night the Carlton Hotel Group officially opened its seventh hotel development with the launch of the Carlton Hotel & Spa Kinsale. Hollywood actor and screen legend, Richard Chamberlain was on hand to perform the opening along with RTÉ’s Derek Davis who was master of ceremonies for the evening.

Group managing director, Carlton Hotel Group, Michael Kearney, said that initially the new development here in Kinsale will employ 70 people, which will grow to 120 when the hotel is at full operating capacity.
