Mobile firm to create 110 jobs in Waterford

A WATERFORD-BASED multi national, mobile communications company is to create 110 jobs, with recruitment already underway.

Rigney Dolphin on the IDA Industrial Estate on Waterford’s Cork Road announced the posts yesterday. The jobs will be for customer services representatives, credit control staff, teleservices personnel and researchers.

Chief executive Dr Frank Dolphin said the job boost follows the signing of a new contract with a leading mobile phone company. The company provides back-up to mobile phone users on everything from retrieving their PIN to technical support.

“Over the past few years we have had some bad news in the service industry in Waterford,” said Dr Dolphin. “The county has huge potential in the services industry and it is a sector which we hope to continue to grow,” he said.

Would-be applicants interested in applying for the positions should have customer-service experience and must be PC literate.

There are also vacancies for credit controllers, telesales staff and researchers in the customer services areas.

Rigney Dolphin employs over 800 staff in Dublin and Dundalk.
