Bigger cattle turnout improves prices

Marts: There was a bigger turnout of cattle which met with a stronger trade and improved prices at yesterday’s mart sales.

Demand was described as brisk for beef and forward bullocks and heifers with factory agents active at the sales which confirms the strong demand at the factories for stronger supplies of cattle.

Prices were improved by up to €40/head for beef heifers which were an excellent trade while the heavy bullocks showed gains of up to €30/head.
