Talks planned over EU regulations

THE impact on farmers of the new EU animal medicines and welfare regulations will be discussed at the annual conference of the Animal and Plant Health Association (APHA) at the Heritage Golf Club, Killenard, Co Laois, on Tuesday, September 12.

Veterinary consultant Bert Burns will discuss farmers’ access to information and the impact the regulations will have on the competitiveness of livestock farming.

He will be joined by Simon More, professor of veterinary epidemiology and risk analysis in UCD, and leading dairy farmer and Lakeland Dairies chairman Mike Magan.
