Poultry plant accepts package

IT has been confirmed that the entire 190 workers at the Moy Park poultry plant have accepted a redundancy package which will see them get three weeks’ wages for each year they were employed there.

Jim Quinn, a regional organiser with the ATGWU trade union says he still has hopes that an alternative investor could be found for the plant.

Many people from the Clones area of Co Monaghan were employed at the factory and the closure is badly felt in the border region.
