HALF of Irish consumers believe that retail outlets are not properly labelling fresh foods with their country of origin, a new survey has found.

And just one-in-five said there was adequate labelling on restaurant menus.

The nationwide survey by TNS MRBI also found four in every five have no confidence in food imported from countries outside the European Union.
