New APHA chairman outlines plans

THE new chairman of the Animal and Plant Health Association (APHA), the representative body for manufacturers and distributors of animal and plant health products, is Philip Howlin.

He is national sales manager with Pfizer Animal Health and succeeds Billy Cotter of Syngenta, as chairman.

Mr Howlin said he will continue in communicating the positive impact of animal and plant health products on cost-effective production of high quality food.

He will also focus on ensuring the EU veterinary medicines directive will not affect availability of animal medicines or cost-effective production on Irish farms.
