Forestry benefits to be highlighted

A MAJOR national campaign highlighting the benefits to farmers of putting more land into forestry will be a feature of next month’s National and World Ploughing Championships in Grangeford, Tullow, Co Carlow (September 27-30).

It is a joint initiative between the Irish Forestry Industry Chain (IFIC) and the Department of Agriculture and Food.

The campaign will focus on the income, employment, energy and environmental advantages of increased forest planting in a major forestry display.
