Demand improves for finished cattle

Tightening in the supply of cattle to the factories over the past two weeks is now leading to stronger demand for finished cattle as factory prices strengthen. There was a bigger sale and a better trade for both bullocks and heifers at Bandon Mart yesterday.

Up to €308 over was paid for the heavy bullocks, medium weight stores selling for up to €325 over and quality lightweight lots sold for up to €343 over. Plain cattle ranged back to €50 over.
