Indo set to buy into Indian radio venture

INDIAN media group Jagran is likely to sell a 20% stake in its radio arm to Independent News & Media, a senior Jargan official said yesterday.

The radio venture, Shri Puran Multimedia, has eight licences for FM radio channels in India and plans to launch stations covering them by March 2007.

Jagran group chief financial officer RK Agarwal said the radio company was awaiting Indian government approval for Independent’s investment.
