Ploughing championships set to roll

AS THE 75th national and 43rd world ploughing championships approach, an impressive machinery and livestock exhibition at the event is being organised.

Mary Brennan, of the National Ploughing Association’s exhibition office, said bigger stands were the trend this year.

“Space is a premium, with many key exhibitors having increased the size of their stands,” she said.

The championships takes place in Tullow, Co Carlow, from Wednesday, 27 September, to Saturday, 30 September.

The exhibition area alone will cover 60 acres, while 28 countries will compete in the world event.
