Renewable crops new ‘cash cow’

THE scope for increased farm income from renewable crops will be a key issue at this year’s annual conference of the Agricultural Science Association (ASA) in Sligo.

The strategy for the agriculture and food industry to 2013 will be another major theme.

Agriculture Minister Mary Coughlan will officially open the conference on September 8 and the keynote address will be given by Tom Moran, secretary general of her department.
