Mining firm rejects bid approaches

MINER Anglo American has received bid approaches from at least two private-equity consortiums for its paper and packaging division Mondi, which it plans to list, the Sunday Times has reported.

The paper said Anglo American had considered the approaches, received in the past month, and rejected them.

One consortium, advised by NM Rothschild included US buyout firms Blackstone, Carlyle and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, while the other included Bain Capital and Texas Pacific Group.
