Cattle society launches youth project

THE Irish Angus Cattle Society has launched an initiative to encourage more young people to become involved with the breed.

Society president Derek Lovell said the youth development programme offers people the chance to learn the necessary practical skills in preparing and grooming Irish Angus cattle for the show ring.

A Munster regional workshop, part of the FBD Insurance-sponsored programme, will take place this coming Sunday on the farm of Richard and Mary Smith in Doneraile, Co Cork.
